The Four Seasons Ritz Lisbon is one of the most important landmarks in Lisbon, located right in the heart of the city. Built in the late fifties by the dictator Salazar to show off all the Portuguese glamour, the hotel has been famous for its outstanding services since then. Four Seasons is here to add a touch of modern luxury to the island, which by the way is the chain’s main feature.
The décor is sumptuous - the chandeliers and huge flowers arrangements adorn the golden furniture, making you feel like you are in a real palace. An amazing Portuguese modern art collection with tapestries, sculptures and paintings is throughout the hotel. You can even download an application to help you understand each piece.
Culture, charm and luxury in a way only Lisbon could offer you.
Most of the suites have marble bathrooms and balconies that overlook the Eduardo VII Park, the S. Jorge castle and the Tagus river. The décor is traditional and opulent, mixing tones of peacock blue with cream besides the striking 18th century furniture replicas and heavy carpets and curtains.
Our favorite rooms are:
The presidential suite is super-luxurious. It is at the top floor and overlooks the spectacular historical neighborhoods and the Tagus River from each of its five terraces. The living room is spacious and separated from the dining room (which sits up to eight people), making it possible to make small parties and dinners there. The suite is all furnished and decorated in imperial style. A corridor leads to a magnificent marble bathroom with a big whirlpool bath.
The Royal Suite is on the ninth floor of the hotel and has three generous balconies to appreciate the views of the city. The suite is in tones of gray and mallow and exclusive pieces of the restored furniture of the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva foundation complement the décor. The big mirrors on the walls magically become television screens just with the click of a button.
Just like the Presidential Suite, the Royal Suite also has a dining room that sits up to 10 people.
The Foundation Suite takes you back to the eighteenth century. Decorated with replicas of the furnishings of Queen Mary II and King Joseph I, which were donated by the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva foundation, the suite has its own balcony that overlooks the Eduardo VII park and the Marquês de Pombal square.
All the elegant Ritz Lisbon bathrooms offer L’Occitane amenities to the guests.
The Varanda restaurant is on the top floor of the Ritz Hotel. It is impossible to have a better view! It is where the politicians gather with the city’s elite. The qualified chef Pascal Meynard, who has already worked in several Michelin restaurants and was rated by the Lisbon Lux site one of the 20 best chefs in Lisbon, serves international and Portuguese cuisines.
The Ritz bar opens daily from 09:30 pm to 01:00 am and serves the best drinks in town. In addition to that, they also offer exclusive signed drinks by the local bartenders. Our favorite drink is the Smoky Oaky Old-Fashioned with whisky, oak shades and nutmeg, finalized with cherries, signed by the bar manager Luíz Mendes. You can also taste a delicious freshly made sushi.
Do not miss our delicious brunches in the weekends!
This spa is undoubtedly the best in Lisbon. It has an 18 meters lap pool as its main feature and Sodashi products. The most famous treatment of the Ritz spa is the Portuguese Retreat, inspired by the Portuguese tail of the Amendoeiras em Flor (Almond trees in bloom). It uses exclusively Portuguese ingredients. There is also a fitness center with Pilates and other physical activities.
Lisbon’s charms are definitely going to invite you out to exploit it. How about Moto-Sidecar ride? Or maybe a tour to the nearby cities of Sintra and Cascais?
Ritz Lisbon is close to everything and most importantly to the Avenida da Liberdade - the busiest avenue in the Portuguese capital. Designer’s shops, museums, restaurants and the main access roads are all well within your reach.
